New year, New prices

28/11/2021

Comments

The following new list prices for massage services will take effect on January 1, 2022.   It is the mission of Warrior Massage to provide unparalleled quality of deep tissue massage at a competitive rate that is affordable for our clientele, and I hope you will find that mission reflected in these prices.

When comparing prices to competing massage venues, please keep in mind that massage businesses typically expect you to pay gratuity that is not included in their listed price.  At Warrior Massage, quality of service is included in the price and gratuities are not accepted (except in the case of promotional offers and events).

If you have credits on your account from a recurring Samurai Membership or Ronin Package purchased before January 1st, they may be redeemed at the 2021 price until June 1st, 2022.  Starting June 1st credits can still be redeemed for the original amount paid but you will be asked to pay the difference between the paid value and the new price.

Prices beginning January 1st, 2022:
Deep Tissue Massage, 60 minutes:  $90
Deep Tissue Massage, 120 minutes: $180
Samurai rate, 60 minutes: $75
Samurai rate, 120 minutes: $150
Ronin Package (six 60-minute massages): $450
Introductory Massage (new clients), 60 minutes: $70

Yes, masks are still required

30/6/2021

Comments

You may be aware that the Washington State Secretary of Health, under the direction of the governor, has issued an order allowing those who are fully vaccinated to not wear a face covering or mask.
You may not be aware that, even if you are fully vaccinated, the Secretary of Health's Order will still require you to wear a mask in the following places:
  • Correctional facilities
  • Homeless Shelters
  • Schools & Childcare facilities
  • Healthcare facilities
Massage therapists are healthcare providers and Warrior Massage is a healthcare setting, so masking is still required.  Thank you for your continued support and patience while we all put up with this minor inconvenience for a while longer.

COVID-19: masks still required

16/5/2021

Comments

With the shifting landscape of healthcare mandates and guidance coming from the CDC, DOH, and all manner of other public agencies and officials, I have had many patients inquire whether masks are still required for vaccinated patients.

Yes, you will still be required to wear a mask for your appointment, and your massage therapist will still be wearing a mask and taking all other established safety precautions.  Massage is conducted in a small space with prolonged exposure, so it is still prudent to continue doing as much as we can to reduce the chances of virus transmission while rates of infection in the community are still high.

Also, if you are not yet vaccinated, I strongly urge you to do so.  ALL Americans who are at least 12 years of age are eligible to receive the vaccine, and no matter what your financial situation or whether/what kind of insurance you have, the vaccine will be provided at no cost to you.

If you have any doubts or questions about vaccination, please consult with your physician as soon as possible to find out more.  If you do not have a physician, I would be happy to refer you to one who can help answer any questions you have about the safety and efficacy of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Changes to samurai membership

16/4/2021

Comments

Beginning in May, the Samurai Membership will take on a new form:  rather than being a six-month package that is paid for up front, it will now be a monthly subscription that you can pay online.  Payment can be made as each invoice is received, or you can set up autopay with your credit card or checking account (via ACH) to save you a step!  Memberships can be cancelled or paused at any time, with only a small fee if cancelled within the first 6 months - equivalent to the difference of what you would have paid for your redeemed visits had you not used the membership option.

Along with this change, the membership price will be rising slightly, from $68 to $70.  Credits toward membership massages purchased before the date of this posting will still be honored at the $68 price.

Prefer the Old Ways?  You will be able to buy the Ronin Package, 6 1-hour massages at the membership price ($70 apiece) without the need to have a monthly bill.

My hope is that by providing this additional option with more flexibility in financing will allow more people to enjoy the benefits of regular massage!

Now offering 2-hour massage

7/3/2021

Comments

For those of you who have thought "that was a great massage, but it would be awesome if it were longer!", your day has arrived!  You can now book a 2-hour (120 minute) massage at Warrior Massage.

Please be aware that times will be more limited simply because there are less spots where a 2-hour massage will fit into the schedule.

Please consult with your massage therapist before booking a 2-hour massage, to determine whether 2 hours of deep tissue treatment is appropriate for you, for your body, and for the conditions you are currently experiencing.  Your massage therapist may decline treatment if they determine it would not be appropriate or safe.

New clients, please do not book a 2-hour massage, as your therapist would like to get to know you first in light of the above.  2-hour massage is not eligible for new client discounts.

Happy Holidays!

22/12/2020

Comments

Whichever wintry/end-of-year/start-of-new-year festivities you observe or celebrate, I genuinely hope that each and every one of you is able to experience them with joy and blessings.

I am eternally thankful for every client who has stuck with me and supported Warrior Massage through these tough times; every patient who values their massage enough to take the risk; every customer who has been tolerant and cooperative with the changes we've made to mitigate the risk of infection.  And I am equally as thankful for every client who has stayed home to do their part to limit the spread of COVID-19.  I hope that you are all well, and I hope that it will be safe enough for us to see each other again very soon.

Happy Holidays from my family to yours!

Open for business!  Some changes (please read)

12/6/2020

Comments

With Snohomish County moved into Phase 2 of reopening, Warrior Massage is now open for business and accepting appointments.  However it is not entirely back to "business as usual;" you will notice some changes in operation, including the following things that will involve/affect you when you make an appointment:

COVID-19 Pre-screening:
24 hours before your appointment you will receive a reminder via e-mail as usual, however now it will include a link to a questionnaire that you MUST complete regarding COVID-19 symptoms.  The subject line of the e-mail will indicate that there is a form for you to complete.  If the pre-screening indicates you are displaying symptoms of infection, your appointment will be rescheduled.  If you do not complete the pre-screening before your appointment you will have to complete it when you arrive for your appointment and I'm sure that's time you'd rather spend on the massage table.
ALSO If, within 2 weeks before your scheduled appointment, you are feeling any symptoms that could possibly be COVID-19, or have been exposed to a confirmed case of COVID-19, no need to wait for the pre-screening: please let me know and we will reschedule!
No cancellation fees will be incurred for rescheduling due to symptoms of communicable disease.

Social Distancing:
To help minimize the chance of crossing paths with other clients, please arrive no sooner than five minutes before your scheduled appointment time.  If you arrive earlier please wait outside/in your car rather than in our waiting room.
In addition, if at all possible please do not bring anyone else with to your appointment.  If someone accompanies you for any reason, please have them wait outside/in your vehicle.  If you have a small child or other individual in your care who you cannot leave alone, they may accompany you and wait in the treatment room for the duration of your massage, not in the waiting room.

Mask/Face Covering:
Until further notice ALL clients and anyone accompanying them MUST wear a mask that covers the face and nose at all times while inside the business.  If you do not have one or forget to bring it, a disposable mask will be provided for you.

Blankets:
Due to increased sanitation standards, in an attempt to reduce the expense of linens/laundry, blankets will now only be provided by request.  For your comfort, privacy, and as required by law a top sheet will still be on the table to be used as a drape.  We will monitor the room temperature to ensure your comfort, and if you are too cold please let me know and we can get you a blanket and/or turn on the table warmer.
I want to emphasize that this is in no way meant to discourage you from asking for a blanket.  If you would like one for your massage, PLEASE DO ask for one.  It's simply to reduce unnecessary laundering for those clients who do not want a blanket or have no preference either way (if the blanket is set out on the table by default, it has to be laundered after each patient regardless of whether they use it).

I realize that these things may be frustrating for some clients, but we are simply doing our best to follow CDC/Dept of Health guidelines and do our part to limit the spread of COVID-19, and I hope that you can bear with us until the pandemic crisis has passed and we can return to a more normal state of operation.

ALSO - as announced here in February, prices will be increasing next month (July 2020).  This was planned since the beginning of the year and unrelated to the COVID-19 pandemic; the fact that we have incurred additional costs related to the pandemic is purely coincidental.

We will re-open when Snohomish County reaches "Phase 2" status

28/5/2020

Comments

A lot of clients, understandably, have had questions about when Warrior Massage will re-open.  The projected date of June 1st was based on earlier predictions that the state would be ready for "Phase 2" of the state's reopening plan by that date.  Our re-opening date will be adjusted as more information becomes available from state and county health officials regarding reopening status.

While it is true that alternative medical practitioners (including massage therapists) are considered essential and allowed to operate during Phase 1, we are only considered essential when performing "medically urgent" massage.  This strict category of cases does not include anyone with a prescription from a doctor - only cases for treatment of recent serious injury.  Unfortunately, it is not economical for us to open operations for the few cases that qualify.
